Batribike’s new model launch marred by lorry theft (but thieves forget e-Bikes need batteries)
A delivery of new electric bikes has been stolen from a lorry on its way to Batribike in Lincolnshire this week. The bikes were on route to the firm at a guarded lorry park in Europe when thieves struck.
The bikes are distinctive because part of the shipment was the Vista, a brand new model for 2020; there are currently no others in the UK.
None of the stolen bikes were fitted with batteries, which, thanks to the firm’s Danish supply, is designed to fit the frame, so the thieves will be looking for a specific battery.
Batribike MD Steve Coulson said: “This is not how we wanted to announce our new model”.
The missing bikes are: Batribike’s Delta Plus mid motor MTB, Batribike’s Vista-S rear hub, step-through, blue and Batribike’s Vista-X rear hub, crossbar, matt black.
The electric bike firm has asked its dealer network to be on the lookout. If anyone is aware of these bikes please make contact on [email protected] or call on 01427 787774.
