Bikmo and Particle link for data-led insurance product

Cycle insurer Bikmo and IoT Platform-as-a-Service provider, Particle, have formed a strategic partnership to deliver innovative and data-driven insurance solutions for manufacturers and fleet operators within the cycling and micromobility space.

The Particle PaaS combines software, connectivity and hardware, to enable manufacturers and operators to build rich data sets which, aside from basic usage data, can help drive better risk-based decisions.

Meanwhile, Bikmo has a history of building innovative and data-driven insurance solutions for the cycle and eMobility sectors from electric bike risk pricing to building rider solutions for the gig economy sector with Deliveroo.

The strategic partnership will see them utilising vehicle data captured using the Particle PaaS to drive better value insurance products for both direct customers and Bikmo partners, including fleet operators and last-mile delivery organisations.

The partnership comes at a transformative time for the cycle and eMobility space with the cost of living/fuel prices, COVID-19 pandemic and investment into cycling infrastructure accelerating the adoption of eBikes and micromobility.
