Canyon launches 2023 demo bike series

Canyon has today announced its UK demo bike series for 2023. In making the announcement the brand comments, ‘When it comes to purchasing a bike, it’s not uncommon to feel a sense of uncertainty. After all, it’s an investment that requires careful consideration. That’s why we’re excited to announce the launch of our demo events series, beginning this weekend!’

The Canyon demos provide riders with an opportunity to not only see and test ride bikes, but also connect with a team of experts to address any questions or concerns. The brand state they are committed to providing an exceptional customer experience, with demo events just one of the ways they strive to deliver on that promise.

Of the available demo fleet, and the opportunity to ride a variety of bikes, the brand comments, ‘All bike families will be covered this year.’

Kicking off the 2023 series this weekend is a gravel demo event taking place at Peaslake Village hall, featuring the full Canyon gravel range. Wahoo Fitness join the event, providing attendees with bike computers pre-loaded with routes. Additionally, the new Grizl Throwback will be on display, presenting a rare opportunity for attendees to see this 90’s inspired bike in person.’

Why promote a D2C brand on a B2B platform?

Simple really. A strong example of a brand engaging with their audience, hosting events which serve a commercial and community building purpose, toward a common goal: More bike sales = more people riding bikes. More people riding bikes = better for everyone.

In a climate where marketing spend is increasingly the subject of hard conversations, and budgets are being cut, it is refreshing to see a business (and a brand) walk the walk and go out to meet the customer. If only more of the brands working with retailer partners took this proactive approach, in support of their retailers.

Positive examples here include Pinarello, who regularly draw large numbers when hosting UK ‘ride with us’ style demo events which have a high end hospitality feel that matches the brand story. Cannondale had also, pre Covid, been active in running country wide demo days. In the current climate, meeting with customers, delivering engaging brand experiences, offers a real opportunity to build connections, enhance brand reputation, and power future sales.
