CIN Podcast: iceBike* edition with Dominic Langan, Park Tool & Air Fom
Welcome to the 2nd episode of the CIN Podcast, where we discuss the ins and outs of Madison’s new IBD e-commerce platform, Freewheel, with CEO Dominic Langan, followed by appearances from Park Tool’s Eric Hawkins and Mark Peterman of Air Fom.
CIN went along to iceBike* last month to catch up with Madison’s brands, including the likes of Ridgeback, Thule and new recruits Dynaplug. Hawkins took us through Park Tool’s new workshop lift specifically designed for e-bikes, while Mark Peterman explained the technicalities of Air Fom’s innovative tyre technology.
In the podcast, Langan gives a detailed explanation on how Freewheel will benefit IBDs up and down the country:
“You would be mad not to do it. That’s the weird bit, people are thinking ‘what’s the catch here?’ but there isn’t really one. The more you do with Madison, the more you will get out of Freewheel, so the more product you do from us, if you have it in store, then you’ll get the full margin sale in store. If it’s shipped and collected then they get commission on it.
“They don’t pay for the website, there’s no charge. There’s no real reason not to do it, you’ve got nothing to lose…”
