Cyclepods receive Diamond Sold Secure Accreditation for its Streetpod bike stand

Cyclepods have announced that its secure bike stand, the Streetpod, has been awarded the new Sold Secure accreditation of Diamond at its annual testing this year.

The Diamond level of security was introduced for certain product categories, including bicycle security testing for bike locks and cycle storage, and means that accredited products have undergone testing to a more intense degree.

Parts of the Streetpod that were tested for security were the MDPE shell, the outer hoop and internal locking hoop and the fixing bolts for securing the bike stand to a hardstanding surface.

A range of different tools were used to ‘attack’ the Streetpod but it was found that no damage or compromise was made within the five minute cut off time required for Diamond accreditation.

The secure bike stand is manufactured from 100% recyclable MDPE with a reinforced steel hoop which features an internal solid steel locking hoop. Bikes are secured with the front wheel encased in the shell, meaning thieves cannot access the quick release, and the back wheel and frame can be secured through the internal locking hoop with just one D-lock.
