Meet the bike lock that tells your partner you’re about to cycle home drunk

Cycling drunk is (in this writer’s country, at least), just as illegal as getting behind the wheel of a car intoxicated. Similar to devices that exist for motor vehicle drivers, a security device now exists to prevent such poor choices.

The Alchoho-Lock is the brainchild of Koowho and while the aluminium shackle won’t technically prevent you (hopefully not you) from cycling home, it will send a text to your partner’s smartphone warning them and allowing remote control of the lock.

A battery within will offer around 40 breath tests per charge. At $250 and with the potential to land you in hot water with the other half, we expect most will spend opt to spend their cash on a cheaper Gold standard lock and the change perhaps on a post ride beer.
