DAHON expands folding bike range with LUNDEN tri-fold models
DAHON has launched the LUNDEN series of tri-fold bikes, featuring its proprietary DAHON-V Tech for improved efficiency, rigidity and portability.
The LUNDEN series includes two variants: the 16-inch LUNDEN and the 20-inch LUNDEN. The 16-inch LUNDEN is engineered for easy folding, carrying and short-distance riding, with a streamlined drivetrain that enhances aesthetics. Its frame integrates patented DELTECH technology, which uses a tension cable to increase frame strength by up to 15%. The 16-inch LUNDEN also features a Super Down Tube, enhancing structural stiffness, optimising power transfer and improving overall ride stability and acceleration.
The 20-inch LUNDEN, unveiled at the CABDA Midwest event on 4–5 February in the US, offers increased rigidity through a direct linkage between the head tube and bottom bracket, along with reinforced seatstays for added stability and speed. Equipped with two-inch wide tyres and an adjustable handlebar, it is designed for urban riding, uneven pavement and light gravel conditions. Despite its capability, the bike is 12% smaller than conventional 20-inch folding bikes.
Both variants feature a Dynamic Suspension System that enables quick, on-the-fly damping adjustments based on road conditions, balancing pedalling efficiency with impact absorption. A multi-segment adjustable seatpost allows precise micro-adjustments in height and angle, ensuring an optimal ergonomic fit and consistent comfort across a wide range of rider profiles.
Looking ahead, DAHON said the tri-fold bike segment is expected to shift away from price-driven competition towards performance- and engineering-led differentiation as rider expectations evolve.
“With DAHON-V Tech at the core of the LUNDEN series, DAHON positions itself at the forefront of this transition, making the segment’s next phase one to watch,” the company said.
