Danish brand Coh&Co seeks to break UK market with IBDs
Coh&Co is a Danish bicycle company located in Copenhagen with a mission to bring a high quality and sustainable experience to riders. The brand is now looking to enter the UK market with help from independent bicycle dealers.
Coh&Co Copenhagen was founded in 2015 by Paul Harder Cohen and Mette Walsted Kristiansen, both with backgrounds in product design and engineering, bringing a wealth of design, technology and craftsmanship to every Coh&Co product.
Coh&Co specifically focus on designing carbon framed urban commuters, Gravel bikes, Cargo bikes. Models designed by the brand include the StoneWeave Urban models; ERIK and BALDR, the VeloSled cargo bike, ANNA, the StoneWeave Road & Gravel bikes, MATTIS and ARN, and the WOOCA Randonnée & Urban bikes, GUSTAV and AAGE. Additionally, all Coh&Co bikes come with an ‘end of life buy back guarantee’.
Using carbon on commuter and cargo bikes is normally considered too stiff and harsh. However, Coh&Co have added basalt to the composite which gives it a much more comfortable and forgiving ride, leaving the customer with an incredibly light and strong bike.
With more people becoming aware of their own carbon footprint, the basalt in the carbon composite is also a unique selling point for the brand as it ensures the whole composite is recyclable, where basic carbon isn’t. This combined with the brand’s ‘end of life’ buy back guarantee means that the bike is returned to the brand at the end of its life, recycled and transferable to a second or third owner.
Electrified versions of Coh&Co’s Urban commuter Erik and its Cargo bike VeloSled are also available. In a bid to not compromise the carbon frame designs, the brand does not use midmounted motors on its bikes but have chosen German NeoDrive rear wheel solutions for the cargo bike and Zehus rear wheel solutions for the commuter bike. Furthermore, the VeloSled cargo bike can be equipped with a load platform or box customised to customer’s needs, giving dealers the opportunity to be truly flexible.
After years of perfecting the brand’s models, Coh&Co are now looking to enter the UK market with independent dealers who can see value in its products and are not afraid to pioneer with a new brand and bring it to a wide audience.
