Discount Sports Network appoints Primal’s James Smith as growth consultant

James Smith of Primal Europe will join the Discount Sports Network as a Brand Consultant where he will be tasked with adding to the roster of brands available from the bargain hunting network.

If the name is familiar, the Discount Sports Networks is a rebrand from the Discount Cycling Network and reflects a push beyond cycling. For an annual membership fee, the site will secure discounts for its member network, said to have more than doubled in the past year.

Founder & CEO David Birch had this to say: “James and Primal Europe were one of the first brands to join the network offering a discount to our members almost three years ago when it was just an idea and ever since then James has offered guidance and support when it’s been needed.”

The revamped Discount Sports Network will be free to join with an option to upgrade to premium giving consumers access to larger discounts and exclusive brands across cycling, triathlon and outdoor.

Birch added; “We have seen huge growth over the last nine months, with over 150k members gaining exclusive discounts to 100’s of brands including Tredz, Le Col, Pro Bike Kit, Nike, Adidas, Go Outdoors, Blacks, Halfords and many more.

“James has extensive experience in brand development, network growth, people and processes. This will be incredibly important to us as we expand internationally. With an office opening in the US next year and further growth plans across Europe, James is the natural choice to help us with our expansion plans and is a perfect fit for our team, I am super excited to have him on board and look forward to many years working together.”

Bike shops can participate on the platform if they have product or services they are happy to make available to the network’s members at a lowered price.
