DT Swiss acquires German brake firm Trickstuff

DT Swiss has has announced the take over of German brake specialist Trickstuff with effect from January 1st.

The two companies that will work closely together in the future are only 150 kilometers apart. Trickstuff will remain an independent company with its own identity, marketing and product strategy.

The driving force behind Trickstuff, the previous owner and industrial engineer Klaus Liedler, will continue to steer the company as managing director.

Frank Böckmann, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DT Swiss Group, says of the takeover: “With the purchase of Trickstuff GmbH, we want to set up another development location at a location that is highly attractive for employees, in order to keep pace with the ever faster development in our industry.

“Over the years I have maintained a trusting exchange with Klaus Liedler and have come to appreciate him as a creative and personable conversation partner. In these conversations we also talked about the further development prospects of his company. We came to the conclusion that both companies can benefit from working together and have decided to integrate Trickstuff into the DT Swiss group of companies.”

As part of joint cooperation and integration projects, the Freiburg-based company should primarily benefit from the know-how of the DT Swiss Group in the areas of business model development, IT infrastructure integration, supply chain management, production optimization and industrialization. The jointly defined goal for Trickstuff is to continue to grow through the development of highly innovative products and to promote further professionalization and industrialization in the areas of production, marketing and after-sales service through joint projects.

According to the press release, the joint collaboration in cross-company project teams began in December of this year with the first projects in the area of ​​ERP system integration.
