E-Bikes remain key focus area for Sea Otter Europe

A little over three years ago Sea Otter Europe launched in Girona, Spain, with MTB e-Bikes dominating the test ride offering of the show’s Demo Bike area.

This year, electric gravel and road bikes will also be available for test ride as the urban mobility market continues to go from strength-to-strength across the continent.

According to Sea Otter, e-Bike sales accounting for more than half of total turnover for many brands is being reflected in the increase in supply and rising level of specialisation in models. This has led to the show expecting an increase in the number of e-Bikes available for test riding in 2020, with figures yet again set to break records in terms of the number and variety of models available to visitors.

The show also attributed an increase in staff training around e-Bikes from brands to stores to a predicted rise in more knowledgeable and experienced participants in the Demo Bike programme.

The Demo Bike test courses  for this year will therefore be adapted to accommodate these needs and to the increase in disciplines offered as part of the programme.

Last year’s event saw 3,000 Demo Bike tests take place, featuring 500 different models from 42 brands which took part. Find out more about this year’s Demo Bike programme here.

Sea Otter Europe takes place in Girona, Costa Brava, Spain, between 29-31 May 2020.

Exhibitor registration for the show opened 12th November with organisers adding an extra 12% space for exhibitors. To enquire about space at the show the organisers can be contacted here, or by phone on (+34) 93 808 80 91.
