EU bike industry recruiter finds jobs for Ukrainian refugees

A recruitment business operational on mainland Europe and catering for the cycling industry has turned its hand to finding jobs for Ukrainian refugees forced over the border into neighbouring countries.

BiciTalent of the Netherlands has begun working with partners in Germany and Austria to quickly find work for those fleeing who happen to have bike industry experience.

Katarzyna Gasenko, BiciTalent’s Project Lead for Eastern Europe wrote on the effort to come to the aid of those forced from their homes: “Many of Ukrainian people had to leave their homes and escape. Many of them have already crossed the EU boarder. We understand that many of you are left without jobs in the foreign countries. That is why together with our partners – German and Austrian companies from the bike industry we want to help.

“We have a translator (me), who can help with the language, if needed. If you speak English, German or Polish it will help a lot with the hiring process.

“Also, together with our partners we are ready to give you all the informational and other support we can provide in the process of relocation.”

Those with experience in the bike world are encouraged to contact Katarzyna by email here.

For general recruitment in the UK (and some overseas), CyclingIndustry.News’ Jobs board also has a number of industry vacancies.

Unfortunately, the UK’s Home Office has taken a prohibitive stance on accepting those refugees fleeing war, coming under heavy criticism for thus far having only accepted 50 people. Should that change CI.N will seek to replicate BiciTalent’s commendable effort in the UK.
