Fahrworks Bikes: Rebranding, and building dream bikes

Following an approach by a large global media organisation the now newly rebranded Fahrworks Bikes took the opportunity to change names, whilst keeping the business doing what it does best:

Building custom dream bikes.

Having previously built bikes for a number of people, a logical extension of the bike fitting work, without having a business formally established, an approach by a couple of the worlds leading frame manufacturers provided a starting point, and with that the first couple of builds were under-way.

Rebranding as Fahrworks Bikes, Rich is keen to point out that the concept remains the same:

“To work with every individual rider to spec, build, finish and fit the absolute perfect bike for their needs/desires.”

“We love bikes, so we truly believe we are building peoples cycling utopia, and as such put as much care and attention into every build as that deserves.”

Custom build bike laid out like an exploded diagram on a concrete carpark floor with white road markings“Whilst we have some manufacturers we really love working with, we are essentially open to anything and not restricted in our brands as can be the case with a more traditional bike shop model. It sounds cliché but we believe that if you can dream it, we can build it. In the past year we have built bikes for discerning customers from Parlee, Enigma Cycleworks, Colnago, Moots, OPEN, Pinarello and more.”

A large part of the process sees Fahrworks Bikes bringing extensive Bike-Fitting and Cycling Injuries knowledge and experience to the fore ensures that not only does each bike function and look exactly how the rider wants it to, but also that every component is hand picked and built to be a perfectly fitted machine that helps the rider and bike work as one.

Naturally enough, with the cycling industry supply chain seeing ongoing challenges, Rich points out Fahrworks Bikes are well placed to step into. With a number of gaps across “of-the-shelf” bike ranges, being able to build your own, truly unique, custom bike has never made more sense.

Why Fahrworks?

Whilst coming up with the new branding, Rich wanted something truly unique; a name that could build and grow with the business.

Fahrrad is the German word for bicycle. As a youth rider/racer Rich dreamt of getting a spot on a “Works” or a “Factory” race team, but cancer came along to ruin those particular dreams (today Rich also helps to run the cycling focused charity Cyclists Fighting Cancer).

The word “Fahrwerk” is also often used in the context of precision engineering companies in Germany, so when looking for a unique name that isn’t used anywhere else in the English language. Bolting the pieces together to give ‘Fahrworks’, which, with the background knowledge, really fits their approach to building precision fitted, bespoke, dream machines.
