IdeaHunt.io crowdsourced product development platform to help bike biz manufacturers

An online platform on which consumers around the globe can make product design suggestions to their favourite manufacturers is now working with cycling industry brands.

Dubbed IdeaHunt, the platform generates opinion from global “influentials” in the cycling world.  The firm has generated 200,000 followers across nearly 100 business profiles internationally thus far and is now the turning heads of cycling brands, including Kickstarter success Hexlox. In this case, IdeaHunt assisted the firm in generating design feedback and followers. Hexlox’ example page can be seen here.

Summarised in three steps; IdeaHunt sets up a microsite for a brand, then calls on its database of influential users to submit their ideas, before inviting a dedicated cycling influentials panel to submit their thoughts. Users can submit feedback in many forms, from video logs, images or text suggestions. Content is further shared on social media to broaden the input pool.

With this crowd-sourced approach, brands can link up with their most prolific contributors and potentially recruit ambassadors or staff. In some cases, contributor’s to a brand’s feedback pool will be allowed to keep product samples as an incentive.

A dedicated site for bicycle brands and those wishing to join the ranks giving feedback is now live at cycling.ideahunt.io.
