Intense launches new Carbine
Intense has lifted the lid on its redeveloped Carbine, a bike that will now come in several builds starting from £3,900, or as a frame option at £3,100.
The Factory, Elite and Pro builds (plus the frame-only option) come with an ultra-light SL carbon frame and TI hardware; the Expert and Foundation models use a full carbon frame with alloy link. Two paint finishes will be available per model. 
Promising snappy 27.5 handling delivered in a 29″ wheel package the Carbine update centres around JS Tuned 155mm rear travel, a platform that has seen three top 10 finishes out of three races and multiple top-three stage times since appearing at the EWS earlier this year.
As with all Intense bikes, the new Carbine is packed with features, here are a few of the highlights:
- Internally sleeved cables
- Integrated Boost 148×12 dropouts
- JS Tuned suspension with 155mm metric shock and 160mm front travel
- Integrated chainstay protectors
- Flak guard with integrated cable guides
- Super low stand over
The bikes will be landing with exclusive UK distributor, Saddleback, at the end of the first week of July. The distributor expects stock to be limited and demand high, so advises ordering soon to avoid missing the first shipment.
