THE MISSION

As a Department Manager you’ll be growing a dynamic business within the department you’re in charge of to empower and develop your team; all to ensure that your local customers can get everything they need in your department to practice cycling. Most importantly, you have to ensure they have an amazing shopping experience in the process.

Through a 3-month training period that covers business operations and management basics, you will face new adventures and challenges every day but with the support of your team. In a nutshell, your responsibilities will include:

Team leadership:

Recruit, train, and manage a team of Sport Advisors (sales assistants).

Mentor and lead the development of each team member within your department.

Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.

Set performance goals and provide ongoing feedback.

Conduct performance evaluations and manage scheduling effectively.

Sales and Customer Service:

Set sales goals and drive the team to achieve these targets.

Ensure excellent customer service.

Ensure that your team is trained to provide product knowledge and assistance to customers.

Merchandising and Inventory Management:

Ensure top-level and organised department displays.

Manage inventory levels, including restocking and inventory counts.

Ensure that campaign materials and visual merchandising policies are implemented.

Commercial Strategies:

In collaboration with our Commercial Team, prepare a commercial plan and stay updated on product knowledge within the department.

Together with your store leader, define the product range to be offered to customers and sport practitioners.

Reporting and Analysis:

Generate and analyse sales reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Use data to make informed decisions and adjustments to department strategies.

Secure operational efficiency by becoming a Duty Manager.

Implement and maintain operational procedures and policies during assigned duty

hours.

Lead the overall operational function of the store during assigned duty hours.

Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

THE PROFILE

An energetic self-starter preferably with strong leadership skills and a love for cycling.

Invested in the development of yourself and others.

Preferably Cytech level 2 qualification.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As a Department Manager, you will be required to work usual retail hours including evenings and weekends.
