Eurobike Award finalist Bike Matrix expands compatibility product finder
CIN has reported on the potentially game changing Bike Matrix software before: The potential for the solution is sizeable – B2B focused compatibility software that finds the right part for any given bike. Providing retailers with extra confidence they are advising on the right parts, product finder Bike Matrix started out with a humble (their words) brake pad finder in November 2023.
Now, in the lead up to Eurobike 2024 – where the firm is in the running for a Eurobike Award – Bike Matrix has revealed their software solution has taken a few significant steps forward.
Currently, Bike Matrix can provide compatibility info on
-
- Wheel Compatibility: Covering front wheels, rear wheels and wheelsets.
- Tyres/Tubes: Adhering to both ETRTO guidelines and existing components on the bike.
- Brake Rotor Compatibility: Including guidance for upgrading or downgrading rotor sizes and adapter requirements.
- Chain and Cassette Compatibility: Including chains, belts, single-speed cogs and cassettes.
- and of course Brake Pads: Including rim brake pads and inserts as well as disc brake pads.
Recently, the team launched their out-of-the-box Shopify app that is available to the public via the Shopify Marketplace, part of this app includes their new bike selector which encompasses a step-by-step process for selecting your bike, including seeing bike images. They also recently introduced the “Bike Lounge” a feature within their product that allows you to store all of your bikes and easily swap between these whilst shopping, with the “Virtual Worksop” that will allow for bike customisation to come later this year.
With the firm having also secured a sizeable portion of its investment needs, it will be able to scale in Q3/Q4.
The remainder of their year will be focused on bringing more compatibility categories to life and including a wider breadth of bike brands. The solution can be seamlessly integrated into a business’s existing platform using API’s.
In the relatively immediate future, Bike Matrix will be attending Eurobike as an exhibitor this year, located in the Start-Up area of Hall 8 at Stand D44.
Encouragingly, they have been awarded a Eurobike Award in the category of Digital Solutions.
The solution extends beyond like-for-like replacement and considers all suitable aftermarket replacement options, providing a level playing field for all component brands. With a multitude of products with specific compatible products there’s plenty of potential for confusion that could sink purchases before they complete. Bike Matrix looks to be a slick service that will circumvent compatibility confusion and – hopefully – help boost sales for the trade.
