Kryptonite fills final gap in security portfolio with folding locks, revamps lighting

Kryptonite has introduced its first folding locks, filling the final gap in its security portfolio.

Due with distributors by December, the brand has introduced four in the folding style, with both 86cm and 100cm lengths to be available.

As with others in the lock range, the new folding lines will qualify for the firm’s optional Anti-Theft registration, something that can return up to $1,000 in compensation in the event of a theft of a lock rated between 5/10 and 6/10 as the new folding locks are.

Speaking to CI.N, Kryptonite’s Daryl Slater said that parent Allegion’s acquisitions are also now bearing fruit on the brand’s lighting lines.

“The know-how from the buyout of Trelock and Axa has enhanced our research and development capability. Our lights are now tested with Trelock in Munster and have improved as a result.”

For 2018 dealers will have access to a new double pack of Avenue lights, delivered in a stylish metal presentation tin and packed with the firm’s front lights, available in a 100 or 150-lumen version, and rear at either 75 or 50-lumens. These can be mounted tool free either horizontally or vertically to make the most of available bar or seatpost space.

An Avenue dual light, with both front and rear capability at the push of a button is also available, offering a 70-lumen front and 35-lumen rear setting.
