Lime partners with BHN Extras to offer eBike subscriptions through Cycle to Work

Lime has partnered with BHN Extras to add its eBikes to the Cyclescheme range of Cycle to Work benefits, allowing eligible employees to pay for an annual Lime subscription through salary sacrifice.

The Lime Annual Subscription, which includes a 500-minute monthly allowance, costs £635 per year (£52.92 per month) before tax savings. Through salary sacrifice, basic-rate taxpayers would pay £38.10 per month, representing a 28% saving.

Higher-rate taxpayers would pay £30.69 per month, representing a 42% saving, while additional-rate taxpayers would pay £28.05 per month, representing a 47% saving.

Employers can also save up to 15% on National Insurance contributions through the salary sacrifice arrangement.

The UK-wide benefit is available across Lime locations offering eBikes, including London, Milton Keynes, Oxford, the West Midlands and Nottingham.

“We want to make it easier for more people to choose shared e-bikes for everyday journeys. Through this partnership, eligible employees can access a Lime Annual Subscription through their workplace, giving them a more affordable way to include shared e-bikes in their commute, whether they ride all the way or connect with public transport,” said Alice Pleasant, Lime’s UK Deputy Head of Region for Government Relations.

The partnership comes as commuting costs continue to put pressure on household budgets. According to the latest ONS figures, transport prices were 5.7% higher in June 2026 than a year earlier. Meanwhile, research from BHN Extras found that 33% of UK employees are considering cycling as part of their commute.

The research also found that 44% of respondents said access to an eBike would encourage them to cycle more. The partnership aims to provide employees with a more affordable and flexible option, whether they use Lime for their entire commute or combine eBike journeys with other forms of transport.

“This partnership gives employees a new way to access [eBikes] through their workplace, with Lime’s first annual subscription available through a Cycle to Work scheme,” said Peter Dando, Senior Director, Employee Benefits & Recognition at BHN. “Cycle to Work has traditionally meant owning your own bike, but for employees who do not want the cost, storage or maintenance commitment of owning a bike, this partnership offers another route into cycling.”
