Madison announces distribution of Cosmo smart bike lights

Madison has announced that it will start distributing the smart Cosmo Connected Bike Light immediately to retailers across the UK and Ireland.

Designed by French start-up and Madison’s newest brand, Cosmo Connected, the light can be fixed to a helmet or a bike and features a number of innovative and technical safety features.

Acting like a brake light, the light turns brighter when a cyclist decelerates in a similar way to a car or motorcycle. The light can also be used as an indicator controlled by a bluetooth remote or smartphone mounted on the handlebars. Impressively, it can even be linked up to Google Maps via a smartphone to begin indicating when approaching a turn so the rider does not have to use the remote.

When connected to a smartphone, the light can also detect if the rider has an accident, notifying friends or family within three minutes of the rider’s location. Watch a demo of how this works here.

Adrian Phillips, Cosmo Connected Brand Director at Madison, said: “We are really excited to start working with Cosmo Connected. The product is really innovative and we hope to help them emulate the success they’ve had in the motorcycle industry in cycling. There are some really smart features within the product and we look forward to getting started.”

Cosmo Connected originally created a motorcycle helmet light, but has now diversified to manufacture for the pedal-powered market.

The brand becomes the latest addition to Madison’s growing portfolio, after a string of distribution deals earlier this year.
