Martin Murray joins Greenover as head of bicycle division

Greenover Sports has appointed bike industry veteran Martin Murray to head up its bicycle division.

The distributor’s portfolio includes both the Rocky Mountain and Thompson bike brands and Murray’s appointment signals an intent to grow the bicycle side to the business.

Murray said on joining up with Greenover: “I’ve been riding with the guys at Greenover for some years now and through ongoing talks with Dan (Maker), it became clear that I was ready for a change from the corporate side of the bike trade and ready for something different. It’s a relaxed, fun place to work, with a small but focused team of like-minded people and I’ve been fortunate enough to join at a time when Rocky Mountain is genuinely on fire and Thompson bikes are just beginning to scratch the surface.”

Formerly a long-termer at Fisher Outdoor Leisure where he spent 15 years, Murray spent the last 7 years as Head of Sales and a member of the Senior Management team prior to the buyout by Zyro.

Greenover is currently in the process of launching a new B2B website, a brand-new Thompson bikes website and the firm are also in the final stages of launching the new 2018 Rocky Mountain range.
