Muc-Off launch biodegradable Ludicrous AF lube, claims “fastest” on the market
Bike care and maintenance brand Muc-Off has announced the launched a new Ludicrous AF line, laying a hotly-contested claim to be the ‘world’s fastest lube’ alongside its branding. The new race lube uses ingredients derived from renewable sources and is 100% biodegradable.
The new Ludicrous AF is said to offer 18% less power consumption than the nearest competitor, making it the fastest race lube available, according to the brand.

When applied to the chain, the Ludicrous AF product penetrates deep into chain links. As the chain is used, the molecules react with the surface of the chain, resulting in the creation of a fluid sheer plane which helps to reduce friction and power loss. Furthermore, the formula has self-lubricating capabilities and synthetic polymers, which aid durability and deliver long-lasting and repeatable performance.
The launch of Ludicrous AF coincides with Muc-Off’s unveiling of its new Performance Hub. The site features product development stories, along with a multi-chapter series, detailing the work that goes into developing a lubricant like the Ludicrous AF.
The Performance Hub also details a number of advancements within drivetrain performance, such as Muc-Off’s oversized pulley wheel, L.O.P.S; along with its Ultrasonic Tanks, which are used to optimise chains for Ineos Grenadiers, EF Education Nippo and other select athletes and teams.

Last year saw the brand announce its involvement in a Government-backed research and development project on the topic of lubrication, performed alongside two UK-based laboratories.
