Mycle launch sub £2k Cargo e-bike and Compact Plus e-bike

Mycle Bikes has announced 2 new models in its range of UK built e-bikes, both aimed specifically at enable more people to leave the car at home.

The Cargo is the first cargo e-bike from Mycle, priced at £1899, created specifically to encourage and support living locally, whether doing the weekly shop, commuting, or heading out for a day with the family.

A range of accessories are available for The Cargo, offering riders unrivalled versatility, at an affordable price. Customisation options include:

– Capability to securely fit child seats to the rear deck

A 250w hub motor offers five levels of pedalling assist, paired with 7 speed Shimano gears, to ensure you’re able to tackle hills no matter what you are carrying. The Cargo features a 15Ah battery, keeping you pedalling for up to 60km. The Cargo also features the option to install a second battery, doubling the range to 120km.

The bike has an aluminium frame, with a low stand over height, and adjustability of bar and seat post to accommodate a variety of rider sizes. To complete the package, The Cargo comes with integrated front and rear lights, mudguards, and 3.0” puncture resistant tyres to make sure nothing stops you from keeping rolling.

The Compact Plus, priced at £1299, is the next generation of Mycle’s most popular bike, the Mycle Compact. Retaining the space saving folding design and versatility of the original Compact but built to go further in more comfort, the Compact Plus now features 2.125” tyres, combined with a suspension fork to deliver a smooth ride. For load carrying the bike also features a built in mini pannier and cargo rack.

A new 10.4 Ah battery offers improved range and, as with the previous generation of Compact, the battery is both removable and lockable, so no need to worry about security when locking or storing the bike. The battery is also removeable for recharge.

Built in front and rear lights and mudguards make for practical every day riding, and the 250w hub motor delivers the same smooth, quiet ride the original Mycle Compact is known for.

Both new Mycle bikes will be available to test ride a The Cycle Show & London eBike Festival, taking place at Alexandra Palace in London from the 22nd-24th April 2022.

With Chris Boardman, new interim head of Active Travel England, stating that half of all journeys in England could be made by walking and cycling by 2030, e-bikes represent a critical element in transport mode shift, something which the #BikeIsBest campaign, promoting e-bikes to tackle health and climate crises, actively encouraging the use of as a journey appropriate form of transport.
