NBDA announces reshuffle of the board of directors
The National Bike Dealers Association (NBDA) has announced the results of the January 2021 Board of Directors officer elections. The new officers, all current board members, will serve in their leadership roles for three years.
Peter Henry, former First Vice Chair, has been elected Board Chair; Mike Jacoubowsky, former Second Vice Chair, will assume First Vice Chair position; and board member Chad Pickard will replace Jacoubowsky as Second Vice Chair. Amelia Kegel has been re-elected to another three-year term and will now serve as Secretary and Phil Cohen will continue as Treasurer.
“Peter’s leadership and voice of wisdom has been vital to the NBDA over the last three years. He will do an excellent job as Chair,” says outgoing Board Chair, Kent Cranford, who will assume a regular board position.
Peter Henry became a bicycle retailer in 1975 and has grown his Massachusetts shop, Landry’s Bicycles, into seven locations. He’ll be leading a board composed of retailers with a range of experience and strengths. They will be working alongside new NBDA president, Heather Mason.
“The NBDA Board of Directors and its officers are leading retailers and advocates in their communities,” says Mason. “We’re harnessing that collective experience and expertise to support our members in every facet of their business.”
Incoming Chairperson, Peter Henry, said of the reshuffle: “I’ve seen a lot of ups and downs in this industry, and there’s never been a better or more crucial time to be part of the NBDA. We’ll be working with Heather to expand our programs, create new ones, and make sure our members have the support they need to thrive in this unexpected bike boom.”
American bicycle retailers can join the NBDA or renew membership online, giving access to exclusive resources and support. Via NBDA.com you can also tune in to the regular educational podcast, Bicycle Retail Radio.
