The NBDA to host Women of the Bicycle Industry virtual event

The National Bicycle Dealers Association (NBDA) has invited women of the bicycle industry to take part in a virtual networking event titled Women of the Bicycle Industry. The event is scheduled to take place on Monday March 8th and will coincide with International Women’s Day. Those interested in attending can sign up to take part in the free event via the NBDA website.

Heather Mason, NBDA President said: “International Women’s Day is a perfect opportunity for us to invite collaboration and connection between Women in the industry. We hope this event is just the launchpad of many opportunities.”

The restricted virtual event will provide an opportunity for women in the industry to interact and discuss relevant topics. Additionally, registrants will have a chance prior the event via online survey to give feedback on topics or questions they would like to see the group talk about.

Mason added: “Being a woman in the industry has its unique set of challenges. I’m looking forward to providing a safe, welcoming place to bring those items forward and allow for much needed feedback in a peer-to-peer environment. The conversations will be dynamic.”

The NBDA is encouraging all who identify as women, regardless of age, ethnicity, or background to attend. The event is open to shop owners, managers, staff, and industry professionals.

Rachelle Schouten, Development Director at the NBDA, said: “Women in this industry should be celebrated, and I feel we have a lot to learn from each other. This gathering will be a great way to not only commiserate with one another but hopefully also to create new relationships with some inspiring women.”

Mason added “Gearing up to the event on Monday, we will be publishing Outspokin’ blogs highlighting interviews that Women’s Cycling has done with select women in the industry. There is so much diversity, and unique paths to our industry. We look forward to celebrating them all and getting to know the women we work with better.”
