New year, new you? Here’s the latest bike industry jobs

2021 was the year of the ‘Great Resignation‘, a period where, interrupted by the pandemic’s ups and downs, employees began to take stock of how satisfied they were in their work. That means that as we head into 2022 the jobs market remains a red hot subject for job seekers and employers alike. Here’s the top vacancies landing on CyclingIndustry.News’ Jobs Board this week this month…

Northern Consultancy, Brand Ambassador Coordinator 
This role with Northern Consultancy is well suited to an enthusiast adventure cyclist and involves working with clients in the cycling and outdoor marketplaces. The role is broad, building in everything from dealing with event organisers, through to handling media connections and proof reading blog posts.

The role is largely remote, though the firm’s offices are in Newcastle Upon-Tyne. Dependent on experience and weekly hours, the salary range is circa £25-30,000 for the right candidate (This will be pro rata based on a 37.5 hour week).

Hoops Velo, Workshop Manager
Hoops Velo have maintained an enviable position as one of Surrey and Hampshire leading chains of bike shops. This role is for a workshop manager with knowledge spanning e-Bikes through to high-end road.

Holidays up to 28 days, including public Holidays are offered, alongside generous employee discount. The salary ranges 27-30k PA, depending on experience.

Sigma Sports, E-bike store manager
Sigma Sports is looking to bring on e-Bike expertise to help manage an increase in customers seeking pedal assistance at its Kingston upon Thames branch.

The hours run five days a week including Saturdays, and alternate Sundays. The holiday allowance offers 28 days paid (including bank holidays). There is also an increase in holiday allowance to 33 days with length of service.

Wheelbase, Store Manager
To manage the brand new store in Coventry, Wheelbase are seeking an experience retail expert, ideally with a passion for cycling.

The salary is described as ‘competitive’ and 28 days paid holiday is offered, including bank holidays. Additional benefits include access to the Cycle to Work scheme, staff discount and staff social opportunities.

South Downs Bikes, Full time mechanic
Again filling a vacancy at a new store in Worthing, South Downs Bikes is recruiting for both part-time and full-time mechanics.
