Pon Bike acquires Italian shoe brand Nimbl

Dutch cycling powerhouse Pon Bike has announced the acquisition of premium Italian cycling shoe brand Nimbl.

The brand, founded by Francesco Sergio, former Head of Sports Marketing for Cervelo, has an established relationship with Team Jumbo Visma. Unusually, in the world of pro team sponsorship, Sergio has intimated that it was the team who initiated the initial conversation.

As Sergio highlights, in conversation with bici.PRO, for the Mache, Italy, based business, less than 3 years old, this has certainly propelled the brand onto the world stage, going from providing some 60 professional riders with shoes, to partnering with the best road team on the planet – a partnership which sees Nimbl shoes ridden to 2023 Giro D’Italia and Tour de France victories.

“The brand embodies our focus on delivering high-performance, premium products that stand out from the crowd. We are looking forward to a successful future together. “

Francesco Sergio comments, “Thank you Janus and to all (the) Pon family, for the great opportunity. We thrilled for the new Nimbl era under Pon’s wings!”

In the UK, Harrogate based Prologue Performance Cycling are amongst a small, select, group of retailers with stock of Nimbl shoes.
