Raleigh plans to leave current UK HQ but will remain in Nottinghamshire

Raleigh is looking to quit its Eastwood, Nottinghamshire HQ in favour of a site with better workshop facilities and modern logistic facilities, so says local news site NottinghamshireLive.

Calling the Eastwood site “outdated”, Raleigh said it was looking to remain in Nottinghamshire – it’s home since its foundation back in the 1880s.

At its peak, Raleigh was based more centrally in Nottingham and moved to Eastwood in the early 2000s, close to when it moved much manufacturing out to the Far East. Raleigh UK was acquired by Accell in 2012.

According to the local news report, the Eastwood site would likely be turned into housing. Raleigh UK MD Pippa Wibberley said the firm needed “improved bulk order pallet handling capabilities and the ability to pick, pack and ship orders around the clock’.
