Recumbent brand Catrike plans doubling of production space
The OrlandoSentinel is reporting that local high-performance recumbent specialist Catrike is looking to double its production space.
Said to be facing delivery delays to customers on the back of demand growth, general manager Mark Egeland told the local news site an additional 14,000 square feet of space in a neighbouring unit is on the firm’s radar. At present the business operates out of a 10,000 square foot unit in the College Park area of Orlando.
The firm further suggested than turnover has grown 15% year-on-year, with a 25% spike in revenue thus far this year. All business is carried out via independent bike shop partners.
“We could double production with very little investment, very few new employees,” Egeland told the site.
A new model, the Dumont, has just launched, offering independent bike shops a folding and fully suspended platform with a suggested retail of $4,150.
