Oxygen Bicycles looks to independents to broaden network

South Yorkshire based Oxygen bicycles will seek to expand its UK dealer network to 50 stores next year, slowly building momentum that has seen its electric bikes sell through at a rapid pace.

Oxygen BikesAlready involved in the eBike market for over ten years, the label has bikes that are found within the sweet-spot of average sales prices in the UK and some entry-level bikes that are proving too popular to keep in stock, such as the firm’s £1,149 folding bike.

The brand manufactures its light weight aluminium and magnesium alloy frames in Europe, subsequently developing and testing the bikes in the UK ahead of release.

Oxygen offers three different battery specs across its key lines – 10.4Ah, 13Ah & 16Ah – all of which are available for the S-Cross range. Additionally, the company offers after sales add-ons, such as a rear rack for the MTB if a customer wishes to utilise the frame’s mounts.

When it comes to minimum order or stockists’ terms, Oxygen would ask that dealers take a minimum of four bikes to begin trading, the first invoice being ProForma and then 30 days credit terms after this. If four bikes are purchased, dealers can expect a 30% margin on products.

Additionally, if four bikes are purchased in one order, Oxygen will ship carriage free, meaning that dealers can save £25 per bike. There is also a click and collect service available on the company website, where the dealer can also get a 25% margin.

Oxygen offers a two-year warranty on all bikes that are held with the dealer as well as a next day delivery solution to the majority of warranty issues. Additionally, a battery repair service can be offered for its own branded batteries.

If you would like to see the electric bikes in the flesh look out for the brand at exhibitions in 2022, including the National Cycling Show. A presence is expected at the Southampton Boat Show to further drive consumer interest outside of the usual circles.
