Shortlisted bike shop narrowly misses out on Creative Retail Award

Giant Bicycles Tugby narrowly missed out on a Creative Retail Award last month after making the five-strong shortlist in the ‘Instore scheme’ category.

The Giant store was up against prestigious competition, including Fortnum & Mason, Dr Martens, Flannels and Jewels.

On making the shortlist, design agency Whiteroom said: “While the focus of this space was on the leading brands Giant and Liv, the store format was designed to be flexible and scalable to accommodate the growth of each brand.

“We developed a system that ensures a consistent brand appearance, enabling easy presentation of product collections and brand stories. This system allows for complete floor rotation of brands and products, enabling each store and market to visually merchandise according to their customers’ brand interests. From immersive brand storytelling to flexible product displays, it’s a store that elevates the cycling experience from the moment you step inside.

“A huge thank you to our brilliant client Giant Group and Giant Tugby, our design and delivery partners and of course the Whiteroom team who brought it all to life. We’re so proud to see it recognised alongside such inspiring retail environments.”

There’s a further breakdown of the layout on the Whiteroom site. Spoiler: Sofas are featured on the shop floor.

If you’re looking for some retail layout/display inspiration (and you missed Gosia Adamska’s seminar at CIN Live last month), there’s a Creative Retail Awards look book here.

The Creative Retail Awards are organised by the Shop & Display Equipment Association.
