Sigma Sports opens new store in Oakham

Sigma Sports have opened a new store located on Oakham’s South Street with the aim of expanding relationships with the local cycling, running and triathlon communities.

Jason Turner, Sigma Sports Co-founder and Director said, “After 28 years of successfully operating our store in South West London, we are excited to take all of our experience and expertise to another part of the UK. With its friendly culture, beautiful surroundings, and fantastic roads, we believe Oakham is the perfect place for us to open our second store. Our Hampton Wick store is a hub of activity and we cannot wait to bring the same energy and passion to the local area.”

The 4000 sq ft store offers a range of premium brands from all bike categories including Specialized S-Works, Pinarello, Cannondale, Trek, Castelli, Assos, Wahoo and On Running. The layout follows a recent refurbishment at Sigma Sports’ flagship store in Hampton Wick and indoor bicycle parking and outside car parking is available to customers.

Additionally, the new store will also offer full professional bike fitting which will include video analysis, saddle pressure mapping and custom insole fitting. The large workshop aims to support bike services and custom bike and wheel building services. In terms of the ever-growing world of e-commerce, Sigma Sports will also allow for customers to be able to shop via Reserve and Collect.

With the Covid-19 pandemic being the topic of conversations across the world for the last six months, stores across the UK have had to adapt to ensure the safety of staff and customers. Sigma Sports have put in place measures such as limiting how many customers can enter at any given time as well as making it mandatory for customers to wear face masks in the store. Furthermore, opening celebrations for the new store have been postponed however, staff from Fika cafe will be at the opening offering coffees to all customers during the first three days of opening.

The new Oakham store will be open 09:00 to 17:30 Monday- Saturday and will be closed on Sunday’s.
