Specialized UK has appointed Ed Waterston to the role of Head of Marketing.
Having previously held senior brand marketing roles in the UK and Asia-Pacific cycling industries, Waterston joined the firm at the start of November. He will now develop the brand’s marketing strategy from traditional and digital media, and PR, through to events and retail marketing, including both the SBCU education and Retül fit programmes.
Simon Homer, Specialized UK Managing Director, said of the appointment: “Investment in marketing is a critical part of a strong business strategy in a competitive market. We’re delighted to have Ed joining the team to lead our marketing effort. With over ten years of industry specific marketing experience, Ed brings a great deal of cycling knowledge and passion to the business and will be pivotal in helping us to deliver market leading communication to our retailers and consumers.”
On his appointment to the brand, Waterston said: “I’m incredibly proud to be joining the Specialized team. For a long time, I have admired the brand’s ethos, values and strength, and it is fantastic to be a key part of that moving forward in the UK. I’m looking forward to working closely with the marketing team and wider business, as well as engaging and collaborating with the brand’s strong independent dealer network.”
