Temple Cycles: “Would you invest in British manufacturing?”

As societies transition to green forms of transport, bikes and eBikes will be a big part of the future. It’s in this space that Temple Cycles have, in their Bristol workshop, been building bikes, developing a fleet that includes city, gravel and eBikes.

From humble 2014 beginnings the business today aims to become the biggest bicycle producer in the UK, targeting production of 50,000 bikes per year.

Trading profitably, with £6m revenue to date – a 80% yearly growth from November 2015-2021 (to £1.94m), the business has return to Crowdcube for its public investment round,  seeking new investors, targeting funding from those looking to support business growth driven by UK manufacturing.

Since their previous investment round, Temple Cycles has seen over 15X revenue growth, accrued more than 15,000 customers worldwide; a clear demonstration of the international demand, with 16% of products currently exported. This year, Soho House also made Temple Cycles their partner supplier, placing a first order of 500 bikes.

Investment Ambitions:

  • Become a global bicycle company with a reputation for exceptional design, quality and sustainability
  • Expand the electric side of the business and increase their share of this growing market
  • Grow exports, with a focus on the EU and the US

The business, which has built a brand known for sustainable bikes with an iconic, vintage, look, engineered to last a lifetime, has so far raised over £1.25m, toward to goal of driving European sales growth, and increasing their eBike range.
