Tern Bicycles moves to new HQ in New Taipei City
Tern Bicycles has relocated its corporate headquarters to New Taipei City, Taiwan. Accommodating 70 employees, the new office brings together all Taiwan-based teams that were previously spread across multiple locations into a single shared workspace, aiming to foster closer collaboration.
Located in a new redevelopment zone that prioritises public transport, pedestrian walkways, bicycle infrastructure, parks and green spaces, the office reflects Tern Bicycles’ preference for an environment that aligns more closely with its vision of urban living.
Tern Bicycles also encourages employees to cycle to work, allowing them to choose a Tern bike and earn US$0.50 in credit for every kilometre ridden to and from the office. In support of daily riding, the headquarters includes secure indoor bicycle parking, shower facilities and lockers.
The office layout is centred around the Hub, a large open space designed to encourage collaboration and informal meetings. Additional features include private bean bag rooms, Zoom pods, a photo and video studio, and an expanded Innovation Lab.
“Designing this space from scratch allowed us to be really deliberate with the layout,” said Josh Hon, Team Captain at Tern Bicycles. “That meant focusing on how people come together, how ideas move, and how problems are worked through. The result is a workspace shaped less by hierarchy or trend, and more by how we believe people collaborate and stay energised day to day.”
