Velon signs two-year on bike camera deal with GoPro
Velon has signed a two-year partnership with GoPro that will see 11 teams utilising the camera firm’s tech to deliver on-bike race footage and behind the scenes content.
Using Hero4 Session cameras, the Velon linked teams have already delivered footage at the recent Paris Roubaix, which saw Matthew Hayman of Orica-GreenEdge take the win in the velodrome. This was the first time onboard footage has been captured at this race.
The deal continues Velon’s momentum towards establishing long-term stability for the teams and builds on the first multi-team partnership and content capture deal in the history of professional road cycling.
Velon CEO Graham Bartlett said: “This two year deal is helping us open up the world of professional cycling even further, creating more content and increasing behind the scenes accessibility. GoPro is the perfect partner to encourage more people into the sport. With their state of the art technology and top quality footage, we look forward to progressing the sport even further.”
Velon has also recently signed a deal with Face Partnership to bring about a Track Champions’ League, as well as a five year revenue share deal with the Tour de Suisse.
