ABUS launches YARNIT chain lock with textile-steel construction

ABUS has introduced the YARNIT™ bike lock, combining theft protection with flexible everyday usability.

With a total diameter of 24mm, the lock features a multi-layer construction, including a hardened steel chain core, a hybrid layer of textile fibres and embedded steel cable, and a high-tech woven outer shell. This combination reduces weight compared with conventional chain locks, while the soft textile surface protects the bike frame, minimises rattling during transport and delivers a distinctive design.

Designed for urban cyclists, the YARNIT™ prioritises both functionality and aesthetics. Its flexible structure allows it to be easily wrapped around lampposts, railings and other fixtures, even in confined spaces, while an automatic, pick-resistant cylinder enables quick and secure locking.

Built for year-round use, the lock is both weather-resistant and durable. It is available through specialist retailers in lengths of 85cm, 110cm and 140cm, with the 110cm version offered in four colour options: black, denim blue, sand stone and midnight.
