ACT and Natwest’s Tyl partner to help shops save on card fees

The Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) has announced a new partnership with Tyl by Natwest, the benefits of which will include lower card fees and a sign-up bonus.

Already available to ACT Silver and Gold memberships, the payment services link up comes with a £120 Tyl statement credit as a sign-up bonus (see terms here).

Jonathan Harrison, Director at the ACT says: “At the ACT, we are all about creating opportunities and partnerships that enable our members to improve the performance of their businesses, increase sales and provide the best service they can to their customers. In the current economic climate, like many parts of the retail sector, the cycle trade is facing significant challenges, and we are confident that this new partnership with Tyl and the benefits it offers will best equip them to do just that.”

The partnership is one that aims to save retailers the various costs associated and increase the efficiencies of taking card payments. According to the Natwest business, 8 out of 10 Tyl customers saved on fees by moving to the service.

What’s more, Tyl has a range of card machines designed to fit different businesses and different budgets. Prices for the “Pocket” machine start at just £6.99 + VAT per month, with no hire fees at all for the first three months. There are also zero payment gateway fees (for online shopping) until June 2023 (usually £14.95 per month).

Included as standard is the Tyl portal software on which staff can see hour by hour trading data and utilise various tools to attract customers, including a rewards system designed to build customer loyalty through easy to manage incentives.

Free integration of the software with FreeAgent, Sage, QuickBooks and Xero accounting software is also offered, with new customers offered nine months free access to invoicing and bookkeeping software FreeAgent.

Francesco Tirelli, Chief Customer Officer at Tyl adds: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with the Association of Cycle Traders to help their members ride out a tough period for small businesses. Sectors like retail and manufacturing are perfectly placed to benefit from all that we do at Tyl, and we’re looking forward to helping ACT members not just survive, but thrive.”
