Archer Components D1x Trail Electronic gear shifter is now available in the UK
The D1x Trail Generation 2 from Archer Components is pitched as a new programmable kind of shifter, and is now available in the UK from Ginger Beard and Trucker Cap agencies.
D1x transforms nearly any mechanical 1x drivetrain into a high-performance electronic shifting machine. Riders can set the number of gears from 2 to 20 and dial in each gear position to 0.25mm precision. The light action trail remotes helps reduce wrist pain and fatigue while the D1X patented on-the-fly individual gear adjustments are designed to keep shifting smooth.
D1X offers the opportunity for mixing and matching components, handy for finding the right parts for an older drivetrain, while riders can shift multiple gears at once by turning on Quick Shift to personalise how they traverse the cassette.
It works with flat bars, MTB, road bar, drops, gravel, tri or hand bikes.
Archer Components was formed in 2016, aiming to enhance electronic shifting which were limited by closed systems, expensive and not interoperable with a variety of components: “We’ve arrived here from outside the traditional bike industry and bring a fresh perspective on how to infuse engineering and technology into the bicycle drivetrain.

Sean Reynolds has been the UK Manager for the Boards and More bike division for the last 10 years, which include ION and SQlab products. He has also been working with Rocky Mountain / Greenover more recently.
