Atelier Cycles Kickstarts build your own multitool concept

Atelier Cycles, a cycling business established in the UK late in 2015, is set to come to market with its first product – a create your own multitool.

Founded by Nelson Trees, a Franco-British engineer with a background in ultra-distance cycling, Atelier has now gone to kickstarter to fund the concept, which allows the buyer to custom pick the tools they require, prior to assembly and delivery.

Packages are available from £20 (or £22 with a chain tool), or £30 for a deluxe build with tools for a far wider range of applications.

“Last year I participated in the Transcontinental and will be having another crack at it this year. It is in preparation for this event that I had the idea for my first product,” said Trees.

“The idea behind Atelier Cycles’ custom multi tool is simple: we want you to have the exact tools that you need to fix your ride when you’re out on the road in a neat, high quality package. What we offer, in a word, is choice. You choose the tools you need and we assemble it for you, to order. Each tool is unique and fits your requirements without compromise.”

The crowdfunding effort will help Atelier meet the minimum order quantities required from the chosen tool supplier, as well as invest in tooling for the chain tool and forged side plates.

Further items will follow in due course, says Trees, but for the time being you can check out the multitool Kickstarter, which launches today here.
