Bikeflex and Solarcycle partner to revolutionise eBike charging

BikeFlex has joined forces with Solarcycle UK to provide 100% renewable solar eBike charging under its business leasing plans.

This collaboration comes as a direct response to the growing demand for eBike charging solutions, offering businesses an affordable and environmentally responsible alternative to fleet cars.

BikeFlex is known for being the first company to take eBikes into the leasing market. Solarcycle is the first company in the UK to offer an off-grid, solar ‘in a box’ EV charging solution designed to provide green, renewable energy for the charging of eBikes.  By offering Solarcycle’s innovative charging solution under its business leasing plans, BikeFlex empowers its customers to further enhance their sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts by providing free-to-use solar charge points.

The new partnership aims to accelerate the transition from traditional cars to eBikes by making eBiking and charging more accessible and affordable.

For businesses, leasing Solarcycle’s easy-to-install ‘solar-in-a-box’ eBike charging solution alongside their eBike fleet offers significant benefits. It is 100% tax deductible and starts at a cost of just £195 per month over a three-year period for the SolarPoint Twin e-bike charging station. Customers can select their eBike fleet and add the necessary number of SolarPoints. The charging pillars can even be branded to promote a company’s sustainability efforts and encourage staff and visitors to make the switch from cars to eBikes.

Solarcycle’s charging stations are accessible to all eBike users and feature UK standard universal 3-pin sockets. The system harnesses sunlight through flexible PV panels, converting this renewable energy into electrical current for e-bike charging on the SolarPoint pillars. Each pillar is configured to charge two bikes simultaneously.

The SolarPoint eBike charging station will be showcased at the NEC-based National Cycling Show on the BikeFlex stand, number G42.
