BMC Switzerland appoints new CEO
BMC Switzerland has appointed John Glett as CEO, effective 1 January 2026.
In his new position, Glett will lead the next phase of development for the Swiss premium cycling brand, continuing the strategic initiatives set in motion by outgoing CEO David Zurcher.
Glett brings over a decade of experience leading BMC’s global sales efforts. He has also gained international experience through key roles at major industry players, giving him a broad perspective on the global cycling market.
“We’re now in a great position to grow within our core segments — road and gravel — and we’re excited to do so in close partnership with our valued retail network. At the same time, we’re actively looking to expand our presence in regions where BMC is currently underrepresented. We welcome new dealer partnerships and are committed to being an approachable and collaborative brand,” said Glett.
In the future, Zurcher will continue to support BMC as a member of the board, allowing the company to benefit from his network and industry insights.
Zurcher, who took the helm in 2014, has transformed BMC into an independent and self-financed business. His leadership was marked by a deep infusion of industry expertise into the company’s management team, including the appointment of John Glett as Chief Sales Officer.
“We’ve established BMC as a true product and technology leader, sharpened our portfolio to focus on the areas where BMC truly excels, built a strong lineup for the upcoming season, and cultivated a fantastic team,” said Zurcher. “This is the perfect moment for a leadership transition. John brings deep experience with BMC and the industry, fresh ideas, and tremendous energy to take the brand to the next level.”
