BMX specialist Motion of Norwich closes

Norwich-based Motion BMX has sadly announced its closure from Saturday January 14th.

The store’s owner Josh Clarke set up the business in August of 2013 with help from a Government grant to help 18-to-30-year-olds set up in business, also benefiting from business mentoring.

Announcing the final week on its social channels Clarke said: “The idea of owning a BMX shop has always been a dream of mine ever since I first got into riding, and through the support of our customers, supplier’s, brands, family and friends we have made this wild dream into a reality… For this, I can not thank each and everyone of you that helped make this journey happen enough…

“Is this the end of Motion in its entirety? Who knows, over the past few years i’ve really enjoyed the opportunity of working on ideas with friends and nobody knows what is to come in the future, but for now this chapter is to conclude.”

The closure comes early in 2017, but follows what we can only conclude was an unprecedented number of closures in the market in 2016 for shops big, small, young and old.
