Boyd Cycling announces Nicole Johnson as CEO

Boyd Cycling has appointed Nicole Johnson as its new CEO. Former CEO and company co-founder Boyd Johnson will transition into a role focused entirely on engineering and product development, leading innovation at a critical moment for domestic manufacturing.

The company said the leadership change has been several years in the making and is closely aligned with its strategy to expand production in the US. Boyd Cycling is currently focused on strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities, supporting American jobs, and providing industry partners with a faster, more resilient supply chain.

As part of this strategy, the company is accelerating US-based production of carbon fibre and aluminium rims, reinforcing its position as a leading domestic supplier for cycling brands seeking high-quality, competitively priced alternatives to overseas manufacturing.

“This is a pivotal time for our industry. Bringing production to the US means faster solutions for our partners and greater supply chain stability,” said Nicole Johnson. “I’m energised by the momentum we’ve built and excited to lead Boyd Cycling into its next chapter.”

Boyd Cycling added that Boyd Johnson’s technical leadership and engineering expertise will be critical as the company scales US production and introduces new technologies. With expanded domestic capabilities, the company believes it is entering a new phase of growth and opportunity for the cycling industry.

Boyd Cycling’s US manufacturing platform was established in 2022 with the launch of Olive Manufacturing Group, enabling domestic aluminium rim production, which came fully online in 2023. In 2024, the company further strengthened its global footprint with the acquisition of Munich Composites, a German carbon rim specialist, securing advanced carbon fibre automation, patents and intellectual property.
