Brompton Bike Hire launch app updates and pay-as-you-go process

Brompton Bike Hire have announced a new streamlined app and pay-as-you-go process making it easier than ever to ride.

Having listened to customer feedback, Brompton Bike Hire have simplified the registration process making it effortless and quick, removing the customer membership fee, replacing it with a pay-as-you-go structure.

Customers can simply hire from a locker that’s convenient to them and return to any of the 70+ Brompton Bike Hire locations nationwide.

  • Brompton Bikes can now be hired for £5 a day, fully insured for all, with no hidden costs.
  • Bikes can be kept for 24 hours, a week or longer, depending on the need.
  • Hire customers can claim back their hire fees should they decide to buy a bike, receiving up to £150 for a regular Brompton, or £250 for an electric Brompton bike.

The new streamlined app and pay-as-you-go structure forms part of Brompton Bike Hire’s longer term vision of setting up docks to hold multiple Brompton bike types that can be hired out. The aim is to provide as many people as possible to experience the joy and usefulness a Brompton brings. There are also plans in place to continually look at optimising the Bike Hire experience with further app updates on the horizon.

Julian Scriven, Managing Director of Brompton Bike Hire said:

“We believe nothing promotes cycling as a mode of transport more than actually giving it a go…”

‘’We plan to make further improvements and updates to our offer in the future – including being able to offer a wider range of Bromptons for our users.’’

Having originally launched 12 years ago, Brompton Bike Hire, the brain child of Brompton Bicycle CEO Will Butler-Adams, aimed to ensure anyone who wanted to “give cycling a go”, trying out a bike, could do so in a way that was as affordably as possible, without committing to buying a bike.
