Brompton founder Andrew Ritchie stands down from board of directors

Brompton’s founder Andrew Ritchie has stepped down from the board of directors documents filed with Companies House reveal.

Having founded the firm in 1976, Ritchie’s brand today commands a 84,000 square foot facility in Greenford and is on the cusp of releasing an electric Brompton.

This is Money are reporting that Ritchie is said to have had disagreements over the firm’s ambitious expansion plans, though gave no firm detail.

He remains the company’s largest shareholder, commanding 18% and CyclingIndustry.News was informed on a recent visit that he still often visits to check in with the business.
