Brompton Subscription X Green Commute Initiative

Brompton Subscription have announced a partnership with the Green Commute Initiative enabling the brand to offer bikes via the Cycle to Work scheme for the first time.

The partnership will expand access, reducing the monthly cost by up to 47%. As with existing Cycle to Work schemes, the employer will pay for the subscription up front, with repayments from employees coming via a salary sacrifice arrangement.

With the payments come from the gross salary of the employee – saving tax and national insurance on the subscription – results in a 32%, 42%, or 47% cost reduction. Both the Brompton C Line and Brompton Electric C Line are available through the scheme.

The all inclusive package – available across the UK – includes delivery of the bike, servicing every 6 months, and insurance for peace of mind. As Brompton points out, the convenience of Brompton Subscription matches that of the bike itself, which can be easily folded down to be taken on public transport, tucked under the desk at work or in the corner at home.

This comes as cycling subscription services more widely are becoming increasingly popular, as people seek a convenient and flexible way to access high quality bicycles.

Julian Scriven profile pictureJulian Scriven, Managing Director of Brompton Subscription said: ‘’This is a very exciting step for everyone at Brompton Subscription. Our mission is to get more people cycling – reducing congestion and making our streets safer and more pleasant places to be.

‘’Our Subscription service already reduces some of the traditional barriers to cycling, and partnering with the Green Commute Initiative will make it even easier and more accessible.

‘’We hope that this will be the first of future similar partnerships, as we expand our offering to more people across the UK.

“GCI is committed to providing easy access to a range of cycling solutions to improve the number of people choosing to cycle for their journeys and this new partnership with Brompton offers yet more choice for our customers.”
