CES 2026: New Segway eBikes focus on accessibility and anti-theft
Segway has launched an extended eBike line-up at Las Vegas-set CES and like Bosch eBike Systems has emphasised their anti-theft measures. Also significantly, the latest releases – Myon and Muxi – are aimed at a broader market segment than Segway eBikes Xyber and Xafari (launched at last years’ CES), with the firm stating: “Technology should make things simpler, not the other way around”.
Both Myon (commuter and leisure eBike) and Muxi (short tail utility eBike, pictured) continue to integrate and improve upon Segway’s suite of smart tech as well as add features and accessories that promise to integrate seamlessly with its eBikes and enhance the rider experience, with enhanced customisation and modularity.
Both Myon and Muxi benefit from Segway’s Intelligent Ride System, which features advanced security features like Apple Find My and AirLock proximity locking/unlocking, an all-new Lost Mode (certain features require subscription after the first year) that allows users to remotely disable the eBike and/or battery if stolen.
The Intelligent Ride System also features an intelligent lighting system with auto headlights, and real-time health and fitness data app syncing. An upgraded Algorithm 2.0 uses advanced sensors and ultra-fast processing for more refined adaptive assist with gradual power application that closely matches inputs – for a smoother , natural pedal feel and response without jerky starts or dead zones.
“For people who aren’t already cyclists, eBikes can seem confusing or intimidating,” said Nick Howe, head of e-bike at Segway. “The technologies we’re integrating are designed to lower the barrier to entry and make cycling genuinely accessible for everyone. Technology should make things simpler, not the other way around. And with technology that combines Segway original innovations with safety and convenience features inspired by the automotive industry, we believe our new e-bikes represent a leap forward in terms of the rider experience.”
There’s also a new range of accessories for eBikes from Segway, including what the firm claims is an industry first: a dropper post that senses when riders are slowing to a stop and lowers automatically, allowing them to put both feet down for stability and mount or dismount with ease.
Elsewhere, the Rearview Radar brings the enhanced safety of automotive blindspot detection to eBikes. Mounting on the rear of the eBike, it utilises millimetre wave radar to detect the location, velocity and angle of objects with high accuracy to provide real-time audio and visual alerts that riders can customize in the app. Xiro and Rearview Radar integrate with the eBike’s electronics and don’t require separate charging.
