Cooke Components Ltd to streamline and shift business model away from “regular” distribution

Cycling parts and accessories distributor Cooke Components has told CI.N of its intention to refocus its business model and step away from “regular” distribution.

Cooke Components MD Mathew Cooke said: “Since I hear the rumour mill is already in motion, let me firstly assure that we aren’t going to disappear!

“Quite simply I have taken a view on the current market, our current operations and my view forward for 2018/19. We are in the fortunate position where we don’t have outside investment and complex structures, allowing us to take decisions quickly and efficiently as the market changes.

“The decision has been taken to make a move away from what I would term the “regular” distribution model and focus on our trading business and own-brand VEL.

“It’s important for us to remain agile and have the most compelling offering in what will undoubtedly be a challenging market in the mid-term.

“We will be communicating further with our dealer base in the coming days on the changes,” Cooke added.
