DAHON announces product line name change

Folding bike specialist DAHON has officially renamed its proprietary D-VELO technology to DAHON-V.

According to the company, V in the new name stands for victory, symbolising what the brand calls “the evolution and triumph” of its advanced design and manufacturing capabilities.

The DAHON-V technology will serve as the foundation for the brand’s future innovations, focusing on three key areas: advanced material development, such as carbon composites and high-performance alloys; smart integration, including adaptive eBike systems; and ecosystem building by standardising DAHON-V across all product categories.

According to DAHON, the technology stems from a fundamental rethinking of traditional bicycle frame structures. The result is a comprehensive suite of engineering and testing methods aimed at boosting performance, whether on folding models or full-sized road bikes.

For folding bikes, DAHON-V has already delivered notable improvements. Innovations like the DELTECH, which converts pedalling force into propulsion, and Super Down Tube, have significantly increased frame stiffness, addressing the common issue of flex in single-beam folding frames. This enhancement has led to faster, more stable rides, along with improved durability and rider safety.

In road bikes, DAHON has applied its DAHON-V principles to optimise frame geometry and reduce power loss. This translates to a more efficient ride, improved stiffness, and overall better performance for speed-focused cyclists.

At Eurobike 2025, it introduced the Télodon C8 AXS, a folding carbon road bike combining portability with high-speed performance, featuring the internal V-lock system and enhanced frame stiffness.

Also unveiled was the Vélodon C8 Di2, DAHON’s first full carbon road bike built around DAHON-V technology. Outfitted with SRAM electronic shifting and a UDH system, the Vélodon is designed for pure racing speed, representing the brand’s bold move into high-performance cycling territory.
